Laser Therapy

At Cahaba Valley Animal Clinic, we know the importance of well-rounded treatment plans and the importance of prioritizing not only your pet's well-being but their comfort, too.

That's why we offer laser therapy, a non-invasive treatment that emits measured wavelengths of infrared light, penetrating the skin to stimulate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain. The patient's tissue cells absorb the light's energy, resulting in chemical and physical changes that promote cell regeneration and repair.

Laser therapy is an advanced technology that is also prominent in human medicine, and thanks to its effectiveness, veterinarians have implemented this for their patients.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Laser therapy is non-invasive, drug-free, and painless with no side effects. It provides several major benefits for pets struggling daily with chronic pain, surgery recovery, or acute injury:

  • Decreases inflammation and swelling
  • Increases blood circulation to the affected area and throughout the entire body
  • Accelerates healing of bruised and damaged tissue
  • Reduces pain
  • Increases mobility in patients with stiff, achy joints

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Results from laser therapy can vary, but many pets experience immediate relief after just one session, with noticeable improvements in pain and mobility.

Acute conditions are easier to treat. If your pet just had surgery or has a small laceration that needs extra help healing, one treatment of laser therapy may be enough. However, pets with chronic health problems will need to come in for multiple treatments, since their conditions have had more time to develop. Therefore, it will take longer to see results.
